Student Council Wins Top Video

“Dare to Dream…Dare to Do – Donate Texas,” a Pittsburg High School Student Council video, recently earned top honors at the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) annual conference. 
TASC is the largest student council association in the world and the videos recognized at its conference represented the most outstanding videos submitted from across Texas. 
The theme for video submissions was “Dare to Dream…Dare to Do – Donate Texas” “Dare to Dream…Dare to Do – Donate Texas” challenged the viewers to not only follow their dreams, but to help others follow theirs. 
It features an interview with Tim Ervin, of Mount Pleasant, who received a double lung transplant, because of a selfless individual who registered to be an organ donor. This video was used to inspire students of Pittsburg High School to register to be an organ donor. Two donor drives were held – one in the fall and one in the spring – with the goal of 10 percent of the student population registering.
