Pirates Remain in Class 4A; Gladewater, Atlanta Drop

The University Interscholastic League released the enrollment data they will use to formulate the district alignments for the 2018 to 2020 Texas high school football season. While the new classifications, regions and districts won’t be announced until February, this is the preliminary numbers of who will be moving up, who will be moving down, and what the state of Texas high school football will look like for the next two seasons. The enrollment numbers go off of the total attendance of each High School on Snapshot Day conducted in October 2017.
The Pirates will remain in 4A with a total number of 646 students. Gilmer, Pleasant Grove and Spring Hill will also remain in 4A-DII. Below is the enrollment numbers for the Pirates current district along with surrounding area schools:
