Pittsburg DECA Offers Unlimited Opportunities

From The Pittsburg Gazette:

By ELLIS KNOX

DECA is an opportunity offered by Pittsburg High School to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. President Herbert Hoover once said that, “the business of the United States is business.”

DECA provides opportunities to the chapter members to learn the basics of business, how to get a job, how to dress for success, how to start on the road as an entrepreneur and opportunities to solidify these abilities in competition.

DECA Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit student organization that was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in Virginia in 1947. The DECA website states there are 3,500 high school chapters, of which PISD is one, and there are 200,000 high school students involved. There are 5,225 high school advisors. DECA is recognized and endorsed by all 50 state departments of education and the U.S. Department of Education.
